Restorative Iyengar Yoga in person and online

Essential for recovery from illness, injury, or stress, to round out a vigorous, energetic practice, and for those seeking a slower, more meditative practice. The body is supported in poses for extended periods with minimal exertion, promoting deep relaxation and healing of the nervous system as well as providing opportunities for active meditation. Joni is expert with prop placement (bolsters, blankets, belts, chairs, headwraps, sandbags) for maximum benefits and guided imagery.

Online Back Care & Scoliosis, 75 min, hosted by Samamkaya Back Care Center

Weekly live, interactive online yoga class through Samamkaya Back Care Center, NYC. For all types of back issue, pain and postural problems including scoliosis. Lengthen your spine and move out of the habitual behaviors that cause back pain. Joni shares effective approaches that got her out of extreme lower back pain years ago and keep her out of pain today. All levels welcome including those new to yoga and beginners.

Private online 1-on-1 Yoga Session 90-min

If you would like to work with Joni 1-on-1 for more details and/or specific therapeutics, this session could be for you, as a stand-alone session, or in addition to a course you are taking. Joni will provide screen shots or a recording so you may remember the lesson and not have to take notes. For an additional $50, an individualized practice sheet for your own use may be provided.

Chair Yoga for Seniors, 60 min, in person at Clarence Dillon Library, Bedminster, NJ

In person, no registration. Joni is filling in for regular yoga teacher Patricia Videgain.

This class is easy going, meant for seniors and those with limitations.

Online Yoga Foundations 4-week Series Part 1

Learn the foundations of yoga in a progressive series that builds within each class and from one class to another. If you are serious about learning yoga safely, with support and expert guidance.

Classes are 90 minutes, held twice a week, and will be recorded. You will have access to the recordings for the duration of the series, so you may catch up with a class you miss, or repeat the material to amplify your learning.

Joni will be available 15 minutes prior to start time, and after class ends, as needed, to answer questions. She will give recommendations for follow up courses before the end of the series.

Become stronger, fitter and more mindful in 2026!  Mat Yoga is a wonderful way to start 2026 for both experienced yoga practitioners and novices who are athletic and physically active! Instructor Joni Wellness, a yoga teacher with decades of experience, will present classical yoga taught safely in progressive increments, within each class and from class to class, that build knowledge and safe practice according to one’s abilities. 

Students are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats and other yoga props if they have them. The library has a very small number of yoga mats for use.

Registration is strongly encouraged.

Mat Yoga follows Chair Yoga. Both classes provide opportunity for experiential learning of classical yoga philosophy (e.g., non-violence, tolerance, self-study) through exploration of yoga postures. Detailed instruction with component breakdown of postures supporting strength, mobility, mindfulness, self-study, stress reduction, healing and transformation.

Online Saturday Sunrise Yoga Practice

A one-hour led yoga session for students with at least some yoga experience. Practice with an experienced Iyengar Yoga practitioner to warm up, energize, and start your day with a yoga mindset, improving your productivity, efficiency and concentration. Joni will practice with you while directing poses you will probably be familiar with. The session may include yogic strength and mobility work, chest and shoulder openers, pelvis and leg openers, release, integrity-increasing and awareness work. There may be some vinyasa, but most poses will have long holds.
