Saucha in Sanskrit means cleanliness, purity, order. Purity of mind, speech and body. Order of thoughts, surroundings, environs.
The niyamas are the second limb of Patanjali's eight-limbed yoga. Saucha is the first niyama. Practicing saucha brings us toward a more pure and positive life.
