Become stronger, fitter and more mindful in 2026!  Mat Yoga is a wonderful way to start 2026 for both experienced yoga practitioners and novices who are athletic and physically active! Instructor Joni Wellness, a yoga teacher with decades of experience, will present classical yoga taught safely in progressive increments, within each class and from class to class, that build knowledge and safe practice according to one’s abilities. 

Students are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats and other yoga props if they have them. The library has a very small number of yoga mats for use. After the first two classes you should purchase two matching yoga blocks and a long yoga strap.

Mat Yoga follows Chair Yoga. Both classes provide opportunity for experiential learning of classical yoga philosophy (e.g., non-violence, tolerance, self-study) through exploration of yoga postures. Detailed instruction with component breakdown of postures supporting strength, mobility, mindfulness, self-study, stress reduction, healing and transformation. 

Recordings of sessions will be availalbe for a limited time. In addition, you're invited to free online yoga philosophy sessions with Q & A.
